Workshops an inputs

There were a lot of workshops going on! First, we had Andreas and could work with the data that we collected in google and so on. I really enjoyed what he presented us which was a BBC documentary, as it made me think about the data that we create in our everyday lives. We also had discussions about how data can enhance our lives afterwards. During the exercise with Andreas, we visualised Dominik’s sleeping pattern which was like a perfect example of a ‘good sleeper.’ It was interesting to see how a person’ sleeping pattern could show so much about that individual.

We also had Florian for the processing input. I forgot to take a picture, but the input was friendly and very easy to understand for the beginners like me. I really appreciate how Florian tried to deliver the programming material to us in a comprehensible way. I learned how to map the data in a 2D and 3D way, and I think we could use this in our project for sure. We even asked Florian privately about the audio recognise sensor and vocal data inputs. We learned about ‘Minim’, which is the plug in that we might use in the processing for this project.

In the afternoon, we had a textile workshop which led us to know many things about how to use a sewing machine and leather cutter. We could also see the possibility of using the transparent material while observing a student attaching the elastic plastic tubes together. In this workshop, Verena helped me to understand the German phrases and I’m thankful about that.

More inspirational projects & updated ideas

After the textile workshop we brainstormed the idea further. From our initial idea, we could move on to finding the possibility to visualising the notion of vocal expression and communication. Basing on the idea written on the sketch, we will continue making our first 3D model prototype tomorrow.
