We started with the performances which were very interesting to see. I have collected the data from my emotions and observed how it developed throughout the time. I also made a map of my emotions as an outcome. As Joëlle gave me the feedback, I think for the next iteration I would focus more on the method of processing the performance, rather than the outcome itself.

I liked observing other student’s performances as well. I could find some interesting metaphors that they used, for example Claudia’s perfume and Jerome’s Apple. I thought these aspects would be the things that I could keep in mind the next time, using the objects which are not directly related to the observation or the data itself.

Then, we had an opportunity to to listen to Verena’s input which gave me a very different perspective of looking at the embodied wearables. It was amazing to see how the technology can be implemented in a tangible aspect of visualising the data.

In the input, I could see the direction how the embodiment could be transformed in the method of fashion. I think using clothes as the metaphor would be an interesting way to start ideating, as we are wearing clothes everyday to express ourselves or to hide away in the crowd, or sometimes to show the religion. It is almost like our everyday life and I’m willing to see how this could be developed further.

The class discussion led us to gather our insights and to see who could possibly work together. I think it was a very important session, as I could see the main topics that the class was interested in. During the conversation, I could brainstorm some good examples and see that most of our class were interested in using the real time data. I’m looking forward to figure out what would be our main interest and I decided to first research with Dominik and Fiona.
