Today was the big day when the ‘Embodied interaction’ class got started. The first input from Joëlle gave me a lot of inspirations. I could understand the meaning of embodiments better. One of the most interesting projects that I have seen from her presentation was about the ‘Twitter/Landscape’, which she conducted with the data of twitter’s hashtagged messages.

After Joëlle’s presentation, we had an opportunity to hear Luke’s presentation which provided me with a deeper insights about how the data works and how the humans and machines can make / work with certain kind of data. In Luke’s presentation, I could see how the computers and human brains are having the similarities in a way that it handles with data. We also could learn about different sensors that can collect real-time data.

For the afternoon exercise, we had to collect the data that we produce till tomorrow morning and also get some texts or images (basically free to show the data) while doing that. Then we will have to make a performance out of it tomorrow morning. I collected the change of emotions throughout the whole day, as I really liked the idea that invisible data such as emotion could be transformed into the qualitative data and then can be transformed into other form of design.
