9. The Catwalk

The catwalk was in the afternoon, and we had a major tech-problem for this. It was very hard for us to get the things right fir the what we had unguided before, We wanted ti have a working prototype, so we decided to have some time for one person working on the code while the other tow could manage finishing the whole costume.

When we talked at the microphone, the prototype was working. We were sorry be the latest one to show up, but we tried our best to manage finishing the prototype in time. While in the textile workshop, other people said they really like what we have created. I felt shy at the beginning, however it was a very interesting experience to gain the attention with an unusual outfit, as it made me feel people accept my presence differently.

While having the catwalk, I tired to keep clam but it was quite a nervous experience. I liked the experience of acting in a theatre, but walking while a lot of people watching was not a comfortable situation. It was not a long time, but I had a feeling like I was more isolated from the audiences while comparing to the musical theatre. Perhaps that’s because the cat walkers and audiences were both shy.

As the review session, we had a mentoring that it would be helpful to make this costume even bigger and step out of the opera idea if it is restricting us from what we want to experiment. Also, we heard that we would have to take the situation more extreme. So we brainstormed a lot about what we could bring this idea further. We also wanted to have more interaction as the movement, so we decided to shift a lot from the concept that we initially had.
