Today we did a live performance and it was an interesting experience for us to perform in front of audiences. Especially the wearer had to come out a lot because of the screaming that made our wearable inflate to express her anger not only audibly but also visually. The inflation as well as the spikes are supposed to show the people around that the screaming person needs distance, and the inflation gives the wearer the feeling of security to calm down again.
The next step is to replace the plastic film with a special airtight fabric to improve aesthetics and optimize the spikes so that they look much more dangerous when inflated than they do now. A the moment the movement of the spikes is too static and the rising is far too weak. Our goals are the following for the last live performance:
- Finish code incl. Arduino and sensors
- Attach Arduinos and fans to Wearable (Lasercutted to ensure efficiency and durability).
- Optimize spines incl. industrialize/laser cut.
- Wearable from fabric make airtight fabric + make volume smaller so it can be inflated faster.
